Honestly, anal-numbing creams are a must-have for comfort, but let's be real most don't live up to the hype or barely work at all.

A Real Look at Achieve: Desensitize Anal Numbing Cream – Does It Actually Work?

Alright, let’s keep it real here—anal numbing creams can be a hit or miss. Today, I'm personally testing the Achieve: Desensitize Anal Numbing Cream by Little Genie, and I’m just putting it out there that everyone’s experience may vary. But hey, I want to give you a genuine review so you’ve got some idea of what you’re getting into if you decide to try it.

Since I run Naughty Nights, I’m always on the lookout for new products to add to the lineup, and this one caught my eye. When it arrived, it came in a small box with a 44ml tube inside—basically the size of a travel toothpaste. Pop off the lid, and there’s a foil seal to peel back, which is nice to see because at least you know it's hygienic.

So, Did It Work?

Let’s get right to it—does Achieve: Desensitize Anal Numbing Cream actually work? Well, yes and no. First off, the smell is purely chemical. It’s not terrible, but I wouldn’t recommend putting your mouth anywhere near it.

As for the consistency, it’s surprisingly thick, kind of like a dense moisturizer. This was great because it stayed on my finger without dripping off, making it easy to apply right where I needed it. The packaging says to wait 3-5 minutes, so I did just that. When I tried using fingers, it definitely numbed the area, much like the feeling of a numb mouth at the dentist.

I started with a small plug, and to my surprise, the area felt relaxed and comfortably numb. Next, I got curious and tested it with a larger toy that I hadn’t mastered yet. While I could still feel some discomfort, the cream definitely helped ease the way. After about 10-15 minutes, the numbing sensation wore off, and I could feel the usual sensitivity coming back.

So, yes, it works—but don’t get reckless. Even if it’s numb, listen to your body. If you feel pain, or worse, see any blood, it’s time to stop.

Conclusion

For a mere $25, this numbing cream is worth its weight in gold. I’ve used a whole tube, and it worked every time—at least for me! After trying countless options, this one sits at the top of my list.

My only downsides?

  • It’s not a lubricant.
  • It doesn’t state whether it’s compatible with toys or silicone, so I’d guess it’s a no on that front.

But as a standalone numbing agent, just apply it before the fun, then lube up, and you’re in for a treat!
